Cool Schools Community Park Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at Dan D. Rogers Elementary

May 21, 2019 Texas Trees Foundation (TTF), Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, and Dallas Independent School District (ISD) will be cutting the ribbon on a new park model designed to bring TTF’s Cool School curriculum-based design and implementation solution to Dallas ISD campuses. Cool School Community Parks benefit students, teachers, and the surrounding community, creating outdoor learning centers for schools and providing park access to Dallas neighborhoods that have been identified as “park deserts.” Members of this public-private partnership will unveil the Cool School Community Park at Dan D Roger Elementary, where TTF planted 90 trees with volunteers and parents, added a new 7,000 sq.ft playground, installed 19 park benches, created a walking loop path, poured a new concrete sports slab, and planted a special “Wishing Tree.” The celebration day will have opening remarks by TTF partner representatives, followed by group photos and activities for the children on the playgrounds.
